Each Vendor must provide their own table, tent, tent weights (no less than 40 lbs. per tent pole leg). Tents and weights must be in good condition. ALL exhibitors MUST secure their tents & displays against the elements, - i.e. sand bags to secure tents and wire/zipties to secure displays. Please do not staketents to avoid hitting sprinkler heads.
Vendors are responsible for supplying all materials needed to operate within Market regulations, i.e. scales, bags, extension cords, cord covers (mats/tape), awnings, refrigeration, etc.
Fair Pricing: All prices and offerings must be clearly posted before and during the time of the Market.
Every Vendor must provide a company identification sign.
Any claims of being certified organic must be backed up by current certificate available for inspection.
Vendors are strictly prohibited from displaying or distributing any non-scientific evidence based medical claims without disclaimers. NO religious or political signage or distributions.
All ingredients and allergen information must be listed on the packaging, or readily visible to the consumer.
The names of the farms where ingredients are sourced must be visible on signage.
Set-up may begin at 8:00 a.m. Cars must be cleared from the parking lot by 9:30 a.m. the latest, and Vendor must be finished setting up and prepared to sell at 9:50 am. Hours of operation will be subject to change at the discretion of the Market Director. Any changes in hours of operation will be posted in advance of such changes, should any change occur. Breakdown may begin at 2:00 p.m. and not before.
Trash - Each Vendor is responsible for setting up, closing down, and cleaning his/her site before leaving. Vendors not in compliance will be assessed a $15 fee.
Electric - All electric wires must be covered with mats to avoid tripping hazards. Vendors must provide their own mats and extension cords. All electric usage must be approved in advance by the Market Director.
Fire - (N/A 2017) Anyone requiring live fire is required to procure a fire permit from the Borough of Glen Rock Fire Department at their own expense. Permission MUST be granted by the Market Director to have live fire or gas/propane at the Market and PERMITS MUST BE DISPLAYED at the market.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS
Sampling: It is the vendor’s responsibility to be knowledgeable of Glen Rock Health Department regulations. Sampling must conform to the Glen Rock Board of Health guidelines. Samples must be kept cool in clean, covered containers and distributed in individual portions with clean disposable toothpicks or utensils. Please opt for compostable serveware when possible. Hand sanitizers and paper towels must be available to customers at all times. The Market is focused on being as plastic free as possible. Within the Health Department’s regulations, please replace all items with more eco-friendly options. This includes all utensils, containers, bags and wrapping of products.
Health Certificate:YOUR BOARD OF HEALTH CERTIFICATE MUST BE DISPLAYED AT YOUR MARKET TABLE.
Permits: The sale of certain products require certificates or permits issued by the state of New Jersey or other government agencies. Permits include, but are not limited to; processed and cooked foods, fish, dairy products, meats, potted nursery plants, flowers. Vendors are responsible for obtaining all appropriate certifications and inspections as required by the law.
DECORUM: All vendors and their employees must act professionally, must be courteous and honest with all customers. There will be no profanity, shouting, or causing of disruption to the Market. All Vendors and their employees must dress in appropriate attire. Vendors and their employees are not allowed to smoke on premises while the Market is open.
